Summary
Biological Science Technicians perform field and technical work to monitor, manage, and protect natural resources, including plants, wildlife, aquatic resources, and their habitats. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period f is March-September but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Entry on Duty: March 2027. This job will close when we have received 45 applications which may be sooner than the closing date.
Major Duties
Some of the Biological Science Technician (Plants) Standard Duties include but are not limited to: Ability to safely lead field crews conducting invasive plant control, habitat restoration, and plant propagation projects using a variety of methods in accessible and remote natural settings. Knowledge of safe handling and application of herbicides to target invasive plants. Collect, review, and utilize Global Positioning System (GPS) and geographic information system (GIS) data. Collect, analyze, and summarize data from vegetation surveys.
