About the role:
The purpose ofthe Lead, ProductSustainability Strategyis to:
Partner with Commercial, Regulatory, Medical, Legal, and Corporate Sustainability to design, substantiate, approve, and govern sustainability-related product claims and narratives that support the business while meeting tender/customer documentation requirements and preventing non-compliant or misleading claims.
Collaborate with Environmental Sustainability Operations and DD&T toidentifyand operationalize the data needs, assessments, methodologies, and evidenceto support product-level sustainability narratives and tender disclosures, includingmaintainingdocumentation that is traceable, defensible, and inspection/audit ready.
Establish,maintain, and continuously improve the global Sustainability Product Claims governance framework to enable consistent, compliant, and scalable execution across Takeda’s portfolio and geographies—ensuring Takeda can qualify for and respond to customer tenders that require verified sustainability information and controlled product claims.
How you will contribute:
Leads the design andimplementationofTakeda'sproductsustainabilitynarrative strategies forprioritybrands and pipeline assets,ensuringalignmentwithenterprisesustainabilitygoals,brand strategies, and customer tenderrequirements.
CollaboratescloselywithRegulatoryAffairs, Legal, Compliance, andPharmacovigilancetodefineguardrails forsustainabilityrelatedclaims,ensureappropriateevidencestandards, andoverseereview and approvalprocesses.
Works withEnvironmentalSustainabilityOperations and DD&Ttodefinedatarequirements,methodologies, andmetricsneededtosubstantiateclaims,includingmaintainingdocumentation that is traceable, defensible, and inspection/audit ready.
Designs,implements, andmaturestheSustainabilityProductClaimsgovernance framework,includingroles,decisionrights,operatingprocedures,documentationstandards, and escalation pathways.
Developsclear,credible, anddifferentiatedproductsustainabilitynarrativesandclaims,translatingcomplextechnicalassessments(e.g., lifecycleassessmentoutputs,emissionsdata)intocompellingcontentfor diverse stakeholders.
Partners with Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, andMedicalAffairs to integratesustainabilitynarrativesintobrand plans,promotionaland nonpromotionalmaterials, andpatientand HCPeducationtoolsincompliance withregulatoryandpromotionalstandards.
Monitorsexternalregulatory, policy, andstakeholder trendsrelatedtoenvironmentalandsustainabilityclaims;recommendsupdates tointernalpolicies, templates, and trainingaccordingly.
Engageswithexternalpartners (e.g.,industryassociations,NGOs,specialistconsultancies)asappropriate to benchmarkTakeda'sapproach,alignwith best practices, andstrengthencredibilityofmethodsandclaims.
Maintainshigh standards ofethicalconductandintegrity,proactivelyidentifyingandmitigatingrisks of greenwashing,reputationalharm, ormisalignmentwith Takedavalues.
What you bring to Takeda:
Bachelor'sdegree,preferablyin ascientificdiscipline (e.g.,environmentalscience,sustainability,chemistry, life sciences),communications, business, or engineering;advanceddegree (e.g.,MSc, MPH, MBA,PharmD, JD)preferred.
Typically8+yearsofrelevantexperienceinpharmaceutical,biotechnology,healthcare, consumergoods, orrelatedregulatedindustry,includingsignificantexperienceinsustainability, ESG, brand/portfolio marketing,medicalaffairs,regulatoryaffairs, orcommunications.
Demonstratedtrack recorddevelopingorgoverningproductrelatedclaims,narratives, orcommunicationsinconsultationwith Legal,Regulatory, and Compliance partners.
Provenabilityto workeffectivelyin ahighlymatrixed, globalorganization; strong stakeholder management,influence, andnegotiationskills.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$154,400.00 - $242,550.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
