Are you passionate about renewable energy, green hydrogen, and energy management systems? You want to drive energy transformation? We are looking for a working student who supports our hydrogen research team in cutting-edge research topics as well as ongoing engineering activities. The research field mainly focuses on efficiency maximization in operating hydrogen-based technologies such as electrolyzer or fuel cell system. The task varies from the evaluation of efficiency maximization opportunities to customer centered operation pattern of the respective technologies and their energy management system. The engineering part focuses on the operation of hydrogen-based components on our test bench. This task especially includes the support of the test bench operation as well as the evaluation and quality assessment of the achieved testing results. All results are finally reflected within our technology development cycle.

Background

Honda R&D Europe (Deutschland) GmbH, located in Offenbach, is a renowned research and development center dedicated to pushing the boundaries of automotive innovation. The expansion in using renewable energy is one of the core tasks, whereas energy management systems using and managing renewable energy is one of our core activities. One option to extend the use and availability of renewable energy is the transformation towards green hydrogen, which is a unique selling point of our location.

Target

Support the research team within the running research topics
Independent solution of single research tasks against the background
Support the research team in operation and maintenance of the test facilities
Plan and monitor single tests within the testing environment
Evaluate and summarize testing results

You should meet the following requirements:

Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required
Fundamental knowledge in renewable energy, hydrogen technology and energy management systems
First programming skills in python and basic knowledge about machine learning welcome
Strong communication and teamwork abilities are vital for collaborating effectively with our team
