Job Summary
The EHS Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental programs at project sites to ensure compliance with company standards, legal regulations, and client requirements. The role focuses on preventing workplace incidents, promoting a safe working culture, and minimizing environmental impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plans and procedures.
- Conduct routine site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
- Identify unsafe acts and conditions and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and statutory regulations.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training programs.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss events and prepare reports.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safe work practices.
- Monitor environmental aspects including waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation.
- Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and preparedness activities.
- Support management in achieving project HSE objectives and KPIs.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities on EHS matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
- NEBOSH IGC certification (mandatory/preferred).
- Additional certifications such as IOSH, OSHA, or First Aid are advantageous.
