DescriptionJob Purpose
Responsible for executing preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities for BESS equipment and associated electrical, mechanical and control systems to ensure safe and reliable plant operations with minimum downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities for BESS equipment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Battery Management System (BMS), Battery Racks/Modules, PCS, EMS, SCADA and associated systems.
- Carry out routine inspection of battery systems and monitor parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, SOC and SOH.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues related to PCS, transformers, switchgear, UPS, HVAC/cooling systems and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor BMS/SCADA alarms and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Conduct scheduled PM activities, equipment inspections, testing and functional checks as per SOPs and OEM recommendations.
- Attend equipment breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of systems to minimize downtime and MTTR.
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain equipment history, maintenance checklists, breakdown reports and other maintenance documentation.
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors and service providers for troubleshooting, servicing and replacement of critical components.
- Maintain adequate stock of critical spares, consumables and maintenance tools.
- Support installation, commissioning and performance testing of new BESS equipment.
- Ensure proper implementation of LOTO, electrical safety, battery safety and EHS procedures during maintenance activities.
- Assist in responding to battery-related abnormalities such as high temperature, smoke/gas detection, abnormal voltage/current and thermal events, following approved emergency procedures.
- Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, Instrumentation, Projects and EHS teams for smooth plant operations.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance reports and KPI dashboards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, availability and maintenance efficiency.
