The Director, Sustainability Disclosure & Reporting will lead IREN's sustainability disclosure program, including the company's mandatory and voluntary reporting. The role owns IREN's sustainability reporting end to end, including methodology, assurance readiness and relationships with external reporting frameworks.
- Typically 10-15 years of experience in sustainability / climate reporting, or a related field including direct experience writing external-facing reports for mandatory or voluntary reporting purposes. Big 4 Accounting Firm sustainability or Management Consulting sustainability experience is a plus. Level of appointment will reflect depth of experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong track record of report and narrative writing for external audiences of diverse backgrounds.
- Working knowledge of the legal, financial, and commercial considerations relevant to public disclosures, ideally including exposure to public company reporting environments.
- Deep knowledge of sustainability frameworks including IFRS S2 / ISSB-aligned disclosure and the GHG Protocol.
- Experience managing external assurance engagements for sustainability or financial disclosures, including responding to auditor challenge, maintaining supporting working papers, and resolving findings through to close.
- Strong understanding of reporting controls and documentation practices, including maintaining audit-ready evidence and appropriate segregation between preparation and review of reported data.
- Experience directing analysts or shared-service data teams, including through dotted-line or matrixed reporting arrangements.
- Experience navigating voluntary and third-party sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or Masters in Sustainability or similar a plus.
- Owning delivery of IREN's sustainability disclosures and reports, including narrative development, design coordination, and production of the final published report.
- Owning the annual AASB S2 / IFRS S2 statutory climate disclosure cycle: workplan, the climate risk and opportunity assessment with the Risk function, drafting, methodology, basis of preparation, significant judgements, and committee papers through to board sign-off.
- Managing the external assurance relationship day-to-day and leading the assurance step-up as scope expands; operating quarterly close controls with Financial Reporting.
- Owning the emissions inventory methodology, including emission factors, boundaries, and recalculation policy.
- Leading engagement with relevant third-party reporting frameworks and voluntary sustainability organizations, managing submissions and ongoing relationships.
- Partnering closely with Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure disclosures are accurate, defensible, and aligned with legal, financial, and commercial requirements, including public company disclosure considerations.
- Supporting the Head of Sustainability on external engagement.
- Providing senior review and guidance on writing and disclosure content produced by other members of the sustainability team and broader organization.
- Providing day-to-day direction to customer-facing disclosure work, ensuring customer reporting and ratings responses draw on the same approved content as IREN's published reports.
- Building repeatable reporting processes, calendars, and documentation so that each reporting cycle is faster, better controlled, and audit-ready.
- Setting the standard for how IREN describes its sustainability program and commitments publicly, with every statement supported by evidence.

Compensation
- Annual compensation range of $180 – 266k. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and market data for the region.
