⚡ QUALITY MANAGER – ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE / RENEWABLE ENERGY ⚡

Are you a seasoned Quality Manager who knows what exceptional quality looks like on complex electrical infrastructure projects?
We are looking for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of QA/QC across major renewable energy electrical infrastructure projects, including substations, MV reticulation and overhead power lines.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can drive quality from engineering and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning and final handover.
You will be responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining robust project quality systems while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, contractual requirements, approved drawings, specifications and applicable IEC and SANS standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and manage the Project Quality Management Plan
- Lead QA/QC activities across renewable energy construction projects
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans, method statements, checklists and quality dossiers
- Conduct internal, supplier and subcontractor quality audits
- Manage NCRs, root-cause investigations, CAPAs, concessions and quality observations
- Coordinate hold points, witness points, inspections, FATs and SATs
- Oversee quality requirements relating to testing and commissioning
- Ensure full traceability of materials, equipment, certificates and inspection records
- Monitor quality trends, KPIs, risks and improvement opportunities
- Provide quality guidance and training to project and construction teams
- Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors, suppliers and statutory bodies
- Ensure complete quality documentation for successful project handover and close-out
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
- A relevant Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ QA/QC experience within electrical infrastructure or EPC construction
- At least 2 years’ supervisory or management experience
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Technical understanding of: HV and MV substations
- Practical exposure to renewable wind-energy electrical balance-of-plant projects
- Knowledge of applicable IEC and SANS standards
- Strong experience with audits, inspections, NCR management, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and test results
- Excellent reporting, document-control and stakeholder-management ability
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
