Do you want to lead a skilled Environmental Monitoring team in Aseptic Manufacturing?
Do you have the leadership skills and experience to set a clear direction, inspire colleagues, and create strong results through others? Then you may be our new Team Leader for the Environmental Monitoring team in Final Handling, Aseptic Manufacturing at Xellia Pharmaceuticals in Copenhagen.
In this role, you will lead a team of skilled EM specialists responsible for supporting production, mainly within Environmental Monitoring matters, and ensuring that monitoring, reporting, documentation review, and EM events are handled according to current procedures and lead times.
Day-to-day reality
You will be part of Final Handling in Aseptic Manufacturing, where we are highly skilled in the production of lyophilized API and specifically weighed-out products. We have a strong track record of manufacturing lifesaving, last-resort, difficult-to-make Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients.
“This is a role where there is both a clear expectation and a real opportunity to lead a team of highly engaged specialists. You will have a strong mandate to delegate, prioritize, and follow up on EM-related tasks, creating direction and momentum for the team.“ says Frederik Colding, Senior Manager Final Handling
You will work closely with a team of specialists with a high professional standard and join a management team of five engaged and motivated colleagues. Together, you are on the same mission: to save and enhance lives through producing anti-infective antibiotics.
The role is based onsite in Copenhagen, where nearly 200 dedicated colleagues in Aseptic Manufacturing production are looking forward to welcoming you.
The role
Your first and foremost task is to lead the Environmental Monitoring team. That means knowing and understanding the team’s work, setting clear priorities, delegating with a clear mandate, and following up so tasks are completed with the right quality and pace. You will not be expected to do this alone: your department manager will be available for sparring, support, and clarification.
You will:
- Be responsible for ensuring that EM activities in Final Handling are supported according to current procedures, including timely review of EM documentation.
- Support production according to the production plan in close cooperation with Manager and Team Leader colleagues.
- Ensure specialist support to Final Handling production in EM-related matters.
- Be responsible for timely handling of excursions, OOX, deviations, CAPAs, and change requests in collaboration with Quality functions.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment, creating a positive and efficient working culture in your own team and supporting that culture in the department as a whole.
- Support elaboration and revision of standard procedures and production records to improve best practice and production compliance.
- Ensure inspection readiness, participate in audits and inspections, and support compliance activities.
You will have the opportunity to develop professionally and personally in a fast-paced factory with pivotal significance for Xellia’s value chain, high business complexity, and competing interests. We believe in personal development and have high ambitions for our collaborative performance.
Do you have what it takes?
To succeed in this role, you have:
- Proven leadership experience or a clear ambition to learn to lead.
- Experience with production of pharmaceutical products.
- Knowledge of Environmental Monitoring, GMP, deviations, CAPAs, change requests, and/or compliance activities.
- The ability to communicate fluently in Danish and English.
- A structured approach and the ability to maintain overview across production, the team, and partner departments.
This role requires an equal focus on professional competencies and leadership. You have a natural ability to motivate and engage employees, and you bring a mindset built on commitment, follow-through, and collaboration.
You are a good listener with a can-do attitude. You are outgoing, proactive, and able to get tasks executed. Stakeholders perceive you as professional and trustworthy, and you are skilled at creating a strong team spirit among your employees.
What’s in it for you?
- Xellia isn’t for all: We mean it when we say it. There’s no rigid hierarchy here, and no one will micromanage you. You’re trusted — and expected — to take real responsibility, perform at a high level, and learn fast. In return, you get the opportunity to shape how things are done, influence decisions, and make a visible impact.
- Make things happen: You’ll step into an organization in motion, with clear direction and ambitious goals. Here, you can grow fast, take on more than a fixed role, and shape what’s next alongside people who want to win.
- Personal & Professional development: We don’t put people in boxes. You’ll grow through responsibility, learning from others, and opportunities that expand your skills beyond your formal role.
- Culture & Colleagues: You will be part of a culture where trust, collaboration, and autonomy are real. It’s not a message from HR — it’s what data shows in our quarterly pulse surveys.
