Summary
You will serve as a Career Seasonal Gardener with Fredrick Law Olmsted, National Historic Site. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis.
Major Duties
As a Gardener, you will perform the following duties: Prepares soil beds, turf, ballfields, flower gardens, hedges, walkways, garden fixtures and other planting areas. Performs soil tests to determine deficiencies and corrects these deficiencies. Plants and/or transplants a wide variety of flowers, shrubs, plants and trees. Selects or recommends plants for particular purposes, such as shade, boundary lines, ground cover, and/or erosion control. Prunes shrubs and trees. Trims shrubs, ornamental and fruit trees and hedges. Performs maintenance and limited repairs of watering/irrigation equipment. Identified and diagnosis insect disease and cultural pressures.
