Summary
This position is located in De Soto National Memorial, in the in the Facility Management Division. This position is being filled under the Field Unit Local Hiring Authority (FUL). See below under Additional Information for further eligibility guidance.
Major Duties
This position will be responsible for providing facility management support for a small park with limited infrastructure and resource complexity. The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist supports an organization of facilities and equipment through supervision of subordinate staff, multi-year/operational budgets, and the utilization of new information technologies. These duties provide stewardship of assets/facilities ensuring visitor use and enjoyment as well as the protection of natural and cultural resources. Duties to include, but are not limited to: As a part of the park management team, is actively involved in decisions affecting overall park management policy and operations. Utilize Facility Management Software Systems for cost effective management of assets. Performs and maintains asset inventories and condition assessments for the purpose of developing deferred maintenance costs. Establish project scope, goals, objectives, deliverables, compliance requirements, and alternatives for maintenance projects. Serves as Contracting Officers Technical Representative on contracted work. Implements a current safety and training program to eliminate at-risk behaviors and environments enforcing regulatory policies and mandates. Maintains cost records and prepares annual work budget plans for maintenance operations. Tracks, analyzes and reconciles annual funding allocations. Supervise a staff of permanent and seasonal employees. Recruits and recommends for selection of employees. Establish work plans, recommends personnel actions, approves leave, sets performance standards and evaluates and awards outstanding performance. Actively supports EEO programs and communicates this support to subordinates.
