Summary
You will serve as a Maintenance Worker (Trails) with National Park Service.The purpose of the position is to perform, at the sub-journeyman level, the maintenance, repair, and construction of Park trails. Duty station may be in an area away from park headquarters with general duties performed in a Park.
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Occasionally leading lower graded workers, volunteers, and Interns in carpentry, masonry, rigging, and motor vehicle trail maintenance related operations Transport tools, materials, employees, vehicles, and equipment with a variety of vehicles weighing under 26,000 GVW to job sites and trailheads Operate and maintain a variety of track type and rubber wheeled gasoline and diesel equipment such as front-end loaders, rollers, tractors with auxiliary attachments, utility terrain vehicles (UTV's), forklifts, dump trucks, mowers, mini excavators, and other types of equipment associated with support of Trail Maintenance related tasks. Intermittently leading and teaching lower graded employees, trails interns, volunteers and youth crews in all aspects of trail maintenance activities.
