Job Overview:
A Solar Field Sales Executive is responsible for generating leads, closing sales, and promoting
solar energy solutions to residential, commercial, and industrial clients. They must have a deep
understanding of the solar industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work
independently in the field to achieve sales targets.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead Generation and Prospecting:
○ Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through field visits, cold calling,
networking, and referrals.
○ Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers by conducting thorough
market research.
2. Client Consultation:
○ Conduct site visits to assess the feasibility of solar installations and gather necessary
data.
○ Provide detailed consultations to clients, explaining the benefits of solar energy,
system options, and the financial incentives available.
3. Sales Presentations:
○ Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to prospective clients.
○ Use visual aids and technical data to support the value proposition of solar energy
solutions.
4. Quoting and Proposals:
○ Create accurate and competitive quotes and proposals based on client needs and
site assessments.
○ Present and explain proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
5. Negotiation and Closing Sales:
○ Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to close sales effectively.
○ Ensure contracts are signed and processed accurately and promptly.
6. Relationship Management:
○ Build strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and generate repeat
business.
○ Provide after-sales support to address any issues or concerns and ensure the

7. Market and Industry Knowledge:
○ Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in the
solar energy sector.

8. Reporting and Documentation:
○ Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales
progress.
○ Prepare regular reports on sales performance and market feedback for management.
9. Collaboration:
○ Work closely with the installation and technical teams to ensure seamless project
execution.
○ Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective sales materials and strategies.
10.Continuous Improvement:
○ Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance sales skills and industry
knowledge.
○ Provide feedback to improve products, services, and sales processes.
Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Bachelor of Engineering [BE]
(Electrical Engineering) or a related field is preferred.
● Experience: Proven experience in sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy.
● Skills:
○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
○ Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
○ Ability to understand technical aspects of solar energy systems.
○ Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
○ Proficient in using CRM software and other sales tools.
● Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client locations.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to perform site assessments, which may include climbing ladders and accessing
rooftops.
