You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist in Blue Ridge Parkway.
Major Duties
The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist (Deputy Chief of Maintenance & Engineering) for the Blue Ridge Parkway. This position reports to the Chief of Maintenance & Engineering, Blue Ridge Parkway, and is duty stationed at the Blue Ridge Parkway Headquarters, Asheville, North Carolina. As the Deputy Chief of Maintenance & Engineering, the incumbent is directly responsible for providing leadership and management of the field maintenance operations across the three (3) districts of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia and North Carolina. This position is responsible for a multi-faceted organization through the management of subordinate supervisory staff, multi year/operational budgets, and the utilization of new information technologies. These duties provide stewardship of assets/facilities ensuring, visitor use and enjoyment as well as the protection of natural and cultural resources. Area/Duty Station Information The Blue Ridge Parkway extends 469 miles along the crest of the southern Appalachian Mountains through North Carolina and Virginia between two eastern national parks - Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains.
