Summary
You will serve as a Park Ranger (Interpretation)with National Park Service, Haleakala National Park. This position interprets resources, connect visitors, support learning, and manage heritage resources.
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Develop and present a wide variety of formal and informal audience learner-centered interpretive experiences using a variety of fully developed interpretive skills, techniques and tools delivered inperson and through interpretive media and technology. Develop a wide range of formal and informal audience-centered interpretive experience outlines for Park Guide staff to present. Guide the learning of others through formal and informal methods in visitor operations and interpretive/educational programming, while creating a positive work environment. Manage the day-to-day operation of a visitor facility and/or information desk. Manage staff operations and safety related to roving interpretation in the high-volume sunset operation. Provide high-quality visitor information and interpretation at two busy visitor center settings. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
