Under the general direction of the Executive Director of HR & Payroll, the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor is responsible for the development, management and administration of the Northern Lights College occupational health, safety, and workplace environment programs and activities in accordance with the mission, values, goals, and policies of Northern Lights College.
The HSE Advisor will liaise with WorksafeBC officers on behalf of the College by accompanying the officers for an inspection on the College premises, communicating on behalf of the College, and by helping to coordinate meetings between the College and WorksafeBC.
In this position, you will ensure that the college complies with WorksafeBC and other governing requirements including the Fire Protection Act. This includes monthly campus inspections, monthly consultations with the Joint OH&S Committees, conducting investigations, and consulting and providing advice to employees to aid in safety and prevention.
In this role, there is a responsibility of a budget of approximately <$200,000.00.
*Please note - this position is for a 6 month term with a possibility of an extension.
