Many of their assets are reaching their end-of-life status and require substantial remedials or full refurbishment, additionally TFL are keen to embrace modern technology to reduce carbon and energy requirements and deliver a sustainable, clean city.
Costain under a number of frameworks support TfL in their expansion and sustainability and are of their major providers. With exciting new projects for TFL Rail such as South Kensington Upgrade and Step Free Access.
TosupporttheContractEnvironmentalfunctions,provide,andsupportEnvironmentalsolutionsandenabletheContract/OperationalTeamstoimplement the Group SHE Management System.
Tobuildandmaintainrelationshipswithallstakeholders,whilstprovidinganindependentandobjectiveviewofSHEPerformanceontheContract.
The role centres around delivering E&S of the framework, but will work closely, collaboratively and provide support where necessary with the Health and Safety function, collectively known as the SHE Team.
Key tasks will involve:
- On site support
- Running sustainable workshops with all stakeholders for delivery of sustainable outcomes
- Liasing with client, supply chain, and contract teams to achieve E&S outcomes
- Implementation of the E&S management system across the framework
Support in pre-mobilisation ensuring necessary environment assessments and risk reduction have been undertaken
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Support and Influence Contract Leadership Team, Clients, and other Stakeholders in compliance with the Group SHE Management System and Contract Environmental Performance
- Support and where required deliver training, to allow the contract team to successfully implement the Group SHE Management System
- Coach and support the Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in the delivery of the Contract Environmental requirements
- Where required be actively involved in the ongoing assessment of the Contracts Supply Chain Contractors
- Actively support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives
- Actively engage with the Contract Environmental Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements
- Actively support the investigation of all unplanned events and close out of assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the SHE Management System
- Support the timely reporting, analysis, and use of Environmental data to support and influence the Contract Leadership Team and where required support the development and implementation of data-based improvement plans
Experience
Essential:
- Environmental related experience
Desirable:
- Significant relevant Environmental experience in relevant industry
QualificationsEssential:
- Environmental Degree or equivalent
- PIEMA or equivalent (working towards MIEMA/ CEnv)
Desirable:
- Over 5 years relevant Environmental experience in relevant industry
- MIEMA CEnv or equivalent
