DescriptionPrograms test equipment to meet custom testing requirements.
This is an onsite role requiring 5 days per week in Auburn Hills.
Responsibilities- Read and understand data sheets and test plans.
- Support programming and execution of battery test sequences while developing basic MORPHEE scripts and contributing to control logic for test flow, fault handling, interlocks, and emergency shutdowns.
- Support CAN‑based communication between test equipment, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and devices under test.
- Configure and manage CAN databases (DBC files), signal mapping, message decoding, and diagnostics within MORPHEE.
- Analyze CAN traffic and test data to identify communication issues, test failures, or abnormal battery behavior.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and CAN network issues affecting test reliability and accuracy.
- Monitor, acquire, log, and validate electrical, thermal, and communication data during battery testing.
- Generate automated test reports, data summaries, and traceability records.
- Document test software, CAN configurations, test procedures, and system architectures.
- Support commissioning, validation, and continuous improvement of battery laboratory test equipment.
- Integrate laboratory hardware including battery cyclers, power supplies, loads, DAQ systems, environmental chambers, and safety systems.
- Collaborate with Lab Engineers, and lab technicians to define test requirements and support test execution.
Qualifications- Generally 2 Years or more of related experience or demonstrated competency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience integrating and controlling laboratory hardware such as battery cyclers, power supplies, electronic loads, DAQ systems, and environmental chambers.
- Experience with the MORPHEE test automation platform.
- Keysight ESD programming experience.
- Familiarity with C++, Python, Matlab, and/or LabVIEW.
- Experience programming automated laboratory test equipment for battery or energy systems, including programming to limits.
- Working knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN) communication.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiar in analog signals, PLC, and control cabinet architecture.

The estimated salary range for this position is $64,300-85,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
