Summary
You will serve as a Maintenance Worker within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Port Louisa National Wildlife Refuge in Wapello, Iowa. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of intermediate construction, rehabilitation and maintenance work. First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Completing repairs to building and facility electrical systems such as lighting and power fixtures, wiring, fire or water alarm systems, and emergency power systems. Performing the maintenance, repair and/or operation of machinery and heavy equipment. Operating various electric resistance welding machines such as spot, seam, and flash, or use a manual gas torch welding process. Applying standard measurements, specifications, and instructions when constructing, installing, or repairing items such as frame structures, decking, partitions, shelving, doors, forms, siding, and scaffolds. Performing plumbing tasks to various buildings and structures.
