Job Summary:**
Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an Electrician Renewable to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components for renewable energy projects, primarily solar and wind farms. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for renewable energy installations, including solar arrays, wind turbines, inverters, and battery storage systems.
* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to determine wiring layouts, power distribution, and equipment placement.
* Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify and resolve electrical malfunctions, short circuits, and system failures.
* Inspect and maintain electrical components such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and control panels.
* Ensure all electrical work adheres to local, state, and federal electrical codes, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NEC), and company safety protocols.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects and effective communication of progress and issues.
* Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems to maximize efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.
* Prepare and maintain detailed records of electrical installations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
* Operate and maintain various electrical tools, equipment, and testing devices safely and effectively.
* Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a strong safety culture on job sites.
Job Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent vocational training.
* Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification relevant to the state of employment.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an electrician, with at least 1-2 years specifically in renewable energy projects (solar, wind).
* Thorough understanding of AC/DC electrical theory, power generation, and distribution systems.
* Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
* Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical safety standards.
* Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues using various testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and documentation.
* Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
* Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
* OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
* Experience with SCADA systems and monitoring platforms for renewable energy assets is a plus.
