Job Description
Job PositionTitle: Sr. Manager, Environmental Health & Safety
This positionleadsthe Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at our large and complex manufacturing site. The ideal candidate willbe responsible forthe overall EHS program at the site, including creating and implementing strategic safety and EHS initiatives to foster and enhance our EHS culture. This role requires a strong technical EHS skillset to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. It includes participation on the Plant Leadership Team and managing a team of direct reports as well as the ability to lead and influence without direct authority. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies,proceduresand best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations,policiesand procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in critical safety programs, such as LOTO, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Electrical Safety and Fall Protection in order to coordinate day-to-day implemntation of programs
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, laws, standards, permits/licenses and company policies.
Functional Safety Certifications, Certified Safety Specialist, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Six Sigma Green, or Black Beltpreferred
Strong technical knowledge of LOTO, Machine Guarding, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities:
Experience in managing/handling environmental compliance including reporting and record keeping, environmental permitting for all media, manufacturing operations, regulatory reviews - Proficient
