We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as the Battery Storage Development Manager, specializing in the renewable energy sector with a specific focus on wind, solar, and battery storage projects. In this role, you will be responsible for early-stage development and origination of new standalone battery energy storage projects. The role will involve coordination of project development activities, formulation of commercial offers, customer & related stakeholder management, and requires a deep understanding of energy markets, transmission and distribution network constraints, and experience with siting, permitting, and interconnecting renewable energy/ energy storage projects.
What you will do:
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for battery storage projects, aligning with the organization's renewable energy objectives.
- Identify market trends, opportunities, and potential risks in battery storage technologies for solar and wind energy.
- Conduct feasibility studies and financial analyses to evaluate the viability and potential return on investment of battery storage projects.
- Lead and manage battery storage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, requirements, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate and supervise project activities, including procurement, construction, commissioning, and testing of battery storage systems.
- Monitor and report project progress, identify and address any issues or delays, and implement
- Stay up to date with advancements in battery storage technologies, industry standards, and regulations related to renewable energy storage.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including renewable energy developers, utilities, regulatory bodies, and research institutions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements for battery storage projects.
- Develop and implement safety protocols with the assistance of the HSE Manager, operational guidelines, and quality control measures for battery storage systems.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of battery storage technologies and other emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with solar and wind energy systems and their integration with battery storage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical and financial data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and drive successful project outcomes.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing renewable energy and battery storage.
- Understanding of environmental and safety considerations associated with battery storage systems.
