The opportunity
The Coordinator Environmental Health is a senior leadership
role responsible for leading Hobsons Bay City Council’s
Environmental Health Unit and ensuring the delivery of high
quality, compliant and community focused public health
services. Reporting to the Manager Planning, Building and
Health Services, the role provides strategic direction, manages
regulatory responsibilities, leads a skilled team, and works
collaboratively across Council and external agencies to protect
and enhance community health, wellbeing and safety.
What
you’ll do
- Lead
and coordinate Council’s Environmental Health Unit and
regulatory services
- Ensure
compliance with environmental health, food safety and
public health legislation
- Oversee
inspections, investigations, complaints and public
health responses
- Provide
specialist advice to Council, businesses and
stakeholders on environmental health matters
- Drive
strategic projects, continuous improvement initiatives,
budgets and reporting requirements
What you need to succeed

Tertiary qualification in Public & Environmental Health
(or equivalent recognised qualification)

Extensive experience within Environmental Health,
preferably in local government
- Strong
knowledge of relevant public health, food safety and
environmental legislation
- Proven
leadership experience managing and developing high
performing teams

Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication,
negotiation and problem solving skills
