Domestic Solar PV Roofer
Leeds - Full Time
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Roofer to join our renewable energy team, preparing residential roofs for solar PV installations. You’ll install roof mounting systems, carry out roofing alterations and repairs where required, and ensure all work is safe, weatherproof and completed to a high standard.
You’ll work closely with our Solar PV Electricians to deliver high-quality installations while providing a professional service to customers in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare domestic roofs for solar PV installations.
Install roof hooks, mounting rails, flashing kits and associated fixings.
Remove and reinstate concrete, clay, slate and composite roof coverings.
Carry out minor roofing repairs and ensure all roof penetrations are weatherproof.
Inspect roofs and report any defects or concerns before installation.
Work safely at height and follow all health & safety procedures.
Complete work to company and manufacturer quality standards.
Maintain a clean, tidy and professional working environment.
Work collaboratively with electricians and other installation teams.
Represent the company professionally when working in customers’ homes.
Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in domestic roofing.
Strong knowledge of pitched roofing systems, including tiled and slate roofs.
Experience working safely at height.
Ability to install roofing systems and fixings accurately.
Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, professional and customer-focused approach.
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications & Experience
Previous solar PV roof mounting experience.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing Occupations (or equivalent).
CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
Working at Height certification.
PASMA or IPAF.
Asbestos Awareness.
Manual Handling.
First Aid at Work.
