JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Office of Science - Argonne Site Office, Department of Energy. As a Student Trainee (Physical Science), you will receive training in analytical methods used to develop objectively based information in support of administrative and programmatic planning, development, evaluation, and managerial decision making. MAJOR DUTIES: The following are the duties of this position at the GS-07. As a Student Trainee (Physical Science), you will: Observing interactions, meetings, and accomplishing tasks involved in environmental engineering efforts within the ASO Division. Serves as a student trainee and performs general scientific work of limited scope and complexity in two or more of the major areas of Physical Science (e.g., Chemistry, Physics, Geophysics, Geology, Hydrology, Environmental, Safety, etc.), in support of DOE projects assigned to higher grade physical scientists. Assists in coordinating and carrying out limited, well defined projects or research. Performs preliminary analyses of data to assess relevancy, accuracy and usefulness.
