Job Title: Battery Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary: As a Battery Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for battery production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient production of high-quality batteries while meeting cost, quality, and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Design and Optimization:
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for battery components including electrodes, electrolytes, separators, and casings.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, quality, and yield.
Identify and troubleshoot process bottlenecks to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
Equipment Selection and Validation:
Evaluate and select manufacturing equipment and technologies suitable for battery production.
Develop and execute equipment validation protocols to ensure equipment reliability and performance.
Collaborate with equipment suppliers to implement customized solutions and address technical challenges.
Quality Assurance and Control:
Establish quality standards and specifications for battery components and finished products.
Implement quality control procedures to monitor and inspect manufacturing processes.
Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for battery manufacturing.
Develop and implement safety protocols to mitigate workplace hazards and promote a culture of safety.
Stay updated on regulatory requirements related to battery production and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with R&D teams to translate product designs into scalable manufacturing processes.
Work closely with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to support seamless operations and resolve issues promptly.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications.
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide technical insights and recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in battery manufacturing or related industries, preferably in lithium-ion battery production.
Strong understanding of battery chemistry, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency in process simulation and optimization tools (e.g., CAD, CAM, DOE).
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CE).
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.
