Major Duties
As a Park Guide, you will perform the following duties: Provides talks normally following a prescribed outline to include detailed and specific interpretation and explanation of the outstanding features of the park including scientific or historical interest. Answers a wide variety of visitor questions and provides direction, information, and orientation about services or activities. May guide groups through the building and/or site, telling the story of the events and how those events relate to the historic situation. Provides a wide range of services to visitors, including providing current, accurate information concerning the NPS and other surrounding areas of interest, including interpretive services, concession-operated facilities and services, or hiking trails. Assists other staff in the performance of administrative work such as ensure supplies, materials, and other support items are available for business operations.
