We are seeking for a Sustainability & Climate Specialist
who will support the organization in developing and strengthening its
sustainability, ESG, climate disclosure, GHG reporting, and climate risk
management practices. The role will contribute to regulatory and international
sustainability reporting requirements, including IFRS S1/S2 and ISSB-aligned
disclosures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support
the preparation and development of sustainability and ESG reports in line
with recognized reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare
and support IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 / ISSB-aligned sustainability and
climate-related disclosures.
- Develop,
validate, and support implementation of GHG reporting protocols and
methodologies.
- Conduct climate risk assessments, including physical and transition climate
risks.
- Identify
climate-related risks and opportunities and support their integration into
business and sustainability reporting.
- Support
climate-related scenario analysis, data collection, validation,
calculations, and documentation.
- Review
sustainability and ESG data received from different departments and ensure
accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Support
compliance with QFMA disclosure requirements and relevant Qatar
sustainability and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate
with internal departments and key stakeholders to obtain sustainability,
environmental, operational, and financial information required for
reporting.
- Prepare
presentations, dashboards, management reports, disclosure documents, and
supporting documentation.
- Assist
in establishing sustainability KPIs, monitoring mechanisms, and reporting
processes.
- Maintain
proper documentation and audit trails for sustainability and
climate-related information.
- Provide
technical guidance on ESG, climate disclosures, GHG emissions, and
sustainability reporting matters.
- Perform
assignments independently while following management/UDC directions and
agreed timelines.
Requirements
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Finance,
Business, or a related discipline.
- Minimum
8–10 years of professional experience in sustainability reporting, ESG
management, climate disclosures, or corporate sustainability.
- Demonstrated
experience supporting listed companies with IFRS S1/S2 and
ISSB-aligned disclosures.
- Strong
experience in GHG accounting – Scope 1, 2 and 3.
- Proven
experience in physical and transition climate risk assessments.
- Working
knowledge of QFMA disclosure requirements and Qatar's regulatory
environment is preferred.
Preferred Certifications:
- IFRS
FSA Credential – Level 2 / IFRS or ISSB Sustainability Certification.
- GRI
Certified Sustainability Professional – preferred.
- ISO
14064 Lead Practitioner – advantage.
- Relevant
certification or practical expertise in GHG Protocol reporting,
validation and implementation.
