Summary
The incumbent serves as the Resources Management Chief for Carlsbad Caverns National Park stationed in Carlsbad, NM and is responsible for providing the overall direction and supervision for the management of day-to-day operations and resources management. The incumbent is the senior principal advisor in the management of cultural and natural resources. The incumbent reports directly to the Superintendent or Deputy Superintendent.
Major Duties
The incumbent provides management direction and oversight for cultural and natural resources; Manages Division activities to ensure maximum use of personnel, materials and funds so that the park's cultural and natural resources are protected and preserved while ensuring visitor enjoyment. Provide long-term vision as well as leadership, motivation, inspiration and follow through to staff, volunteers, partners, and public. Will coordinate the review of all research permit applications. Will Coordinate environmental and cultural resource compliance for park projects and operations, including NEPA, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, and other applicable federal laws, regulations, and policies.
