JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Office of Management, Department of Energy. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will provide expert consultant services with technical advice and guidance in assigned areas to management on matters relating to the safe and efficient management of contractor operations. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will: Assess Department of Energy and contractor Quality Assurance (QA) program performance, ensure compliance with established QA guidelines, and report QA program accomplishments. Reviews contractor production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements; ensures that the contractor understands the contractual requirements. Analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the contractor's quality or inspection system; and verify that products offered to the Government comply with contractual requirements before they are accepted. Assess the contractor's QA program cost, schedule and program/project QA performance, and provide oral and written evaluations for award fee determinations. Ensure product quality relative to the operations and procedures for receipt, storage, preservation, packaging, packing, handling, and issue of material required by and acquired for DOE programs.
