RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Business Development Manager, your role would involve identifying market trends, assessing key risks, and negotiating business deals and partnerships. Your primary responsibilities would include refining and executing a multi-pronged market penetration strategy, focusing on both acquiring C&I customers and procuring IPP projects. You would be tasked with developing a three-year growth plan in terms of megawatts added and technology, as well as identifying medium-to-long-term new business opportunities such as cross-border baseload imports and partnerships with big-ticket stakeholders.
Leading engagements with Eskom and NERSA, you would identify opportunities for our client to provide input into future market design and regulatory changes, interpreting these changes to reposition the company strategically. Additionally, you would spearhead strategic engagements with South African financiers to support our client’s business model, propose product and service innovations, and provide periodic structured market research and intelligence inputs into strategy review sessions.
Building cross-functional team relationships would be essential for guiding sustainable, long-term growth, while fostering an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company. You would also identify sponsorship opportunities, represent our client at key events and forums, fulfil requests for proposals from potential partners and customers, and contribute to the development of customer-facing web platforms and digital experiences. Furthermore, you would play a crucial role in developing plans for further staffing requirements and establishing office presence.
