Major Duties
As a General Engineer, you will perform the following duties: Serve as a Senior General Engineer and technical expert providing definitive leadership in advanced engineering integrity and analyses for the comprehensive lifecycle of multi-billion dollar observing systems with international scope and Congressional interest impacting the Nation. Lead the resolution of unprecedented, complex engineering problems where no established precedents exist, requiring the development of new theories, concepts, or approaches to achieve objectives. Oversee and coordinate the planning and prioritization of projects throughout the project lifecycle. Lead the identification and validation of significant problem areas requiring action while prioritizing assigned projects. Oversee and manage project and technical activities of the Program in the meeting of established objectives. Serve as the program's technical expert in technical exchanges and engagements with international partners, other federal agencies, and industry. Collaborate with other agencies and international partners in pioneering development efforts involving the transition and application of new research, emerging technology, and data observation and collection. Serve on committees and boards providing expertise to weather radar development projects that impact external organizations.
