About the Role:
The Mechanic Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting experienced mechanics to ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of vehicles and machinery. This position involves assisting with diagnostic procedures, preparing tools and parts, and performing routine maintenance tasks under supervision. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience and technical knowledge in automotive or mechanical repair environments, contributing to the overall productivity of the workshop. The Mechanic Assistant will help maintain a safe and organized workspace, ensuring that all equipment is properly handled and stored. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of automotive or mechanical systems.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an automotive or mechanical workshop environment.
- Basic certification or coursework in automotive technology or mechanics.
- Familiarity with common hand and power tools used in vehicle repair.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a mechanical setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist mechanics in performing vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Prepare and organize tools, parts, and equipment needed for repair jobs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Clean and maintain the workshop area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Document work performed and report any issues or parts needed to the lead mechanic.
