Summary
You will serve as a Maintenance Worker Supervisor - Field Unit Local Hire (FUL) . First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.
Major Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for ensuring equal opportunity for all employees supervised in the selection of employees for training, promotions, awards and recognition, and other career development opportunities. Incumbent ensures fair and unprejudiced employment practices in the recruitment and selection of candidates for job vacancies. The incumbent is also responsible for addressing employee issues and taking appropriate disciplinary action when necessary. Initiates and follows through with efforts to conform to established local and Federal codes in all areas of operations supervised and to assure employees have the personal protective gear required to perform their duties and enforces its use. Identifies and corrects safety and health hazards, trains employees in correct safety procedures, completes hazards analysis, maintains all related records reviews and reports lost time incidents and other accidents in accordance with NPS policy. Works with personnel office concerning all OWCP cases and enforces return to work requirements. Schedules and performs workplace inspections and tailgate safety sessions and documents all to supervisor. Responsibility for the development, implementation, management and supervision of long/short-range and day-to-day activities of a park, or similar facility's, field maintenance operation of custodial and grounds workers. Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement. Responsible for on the job safety and health of all employees supervised.
