Job Description & Summary
Would you like to apply your knowledge and experience when it comes to accounting, finance and/or law in the field of sustainability? Do you want to help clients to implement complex and important sustainable finance legislation? And would you like to contribute actively to the building and further growth of PwC’s Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) team? Then this is your opportunity!
We are looking for professionals with at least six years of work experience who do not necessarily have experience in sustainable finance legislation, but would like the opportunity to work on it.
Financial institutions are increasingly aware of their role in the transition to a climate-neutral, circular, inclusive, and competitive economy. Banks, insurers, pension funds, and asset managers will need to embed ESG aspects in their products, services, processes, systems, strategy, and culture. Only then can they maintain a viable revenue model and contribute to making the world more sustainable. We help financial institutions with this ESG integration.
What will you be doing?
As a Manager Sustainable Finance, your work will include:
- Implementing the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and EU Taxonomy and other sustainable finance legislation at financial institutions;
- Developing your own professional knowledge in the field of sustainable finance legislation;
- Preparing and conducting training sessions on sustainable finance legislation for clients and PwC colleagues;
- Our team is also working on European Central Bank (ECB) requirements for including climate-related risks in banks' risk management systems.
Besides working for clients, you’ll be actively involved in building up and positioning the ESG team, both internally within PwC and when shaping our proposition to clients effectively. You will supervise junior colleagues and receive coaching and guidance yourself. Your home base will be our ESG team: an energetic and intrinsically motivated group of people with growth ambitions and social impact.
Does this describe you?
You are a talented and ambitious professional with experience in accountancy, audit, finance or law. You take responsibility for your own career and development and are keen to complement your skill set with sustainable finance legislation and ESG expertise. You are interested in developments within the field and you have an eye for what’s going on within society. You are ready for a position in which you can grow, have a social impact, and get the best out of yourself and your colleagues.
- You have at least six years of relevant work experience, for example as an accountant, regulatory specialist at a financial institution, and you enjoy working on legislation.
- You have completed a university programme.
- You are interested in relevant developments and legislation in the context of sustainable finance, such as the CSRD, EU Taxonomy, the SFDR, ESG data, and ratings.
- You speak and write both Dutch and English fluently.
- You are independent, flexible, critical, proactive and innovative, and you enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams.
What are we offering?
At PwC, you will have the opportunity to be yourself, get the best out of yourself in a high-performance organisation and grow within our global network. As part of our team we offer:
- A competitive salary, permanent contract,attractive pension plan and the opportunity to grow rapidly;
- Customised training for professional growth and leadership development;

- Flexibility of hybrid working, including ergonomic home office and fixed expense allowance including internet allowance;
- Attractive mobility options, including electric lease car, car waiver allowance and the possibility of using different shared transport providers;
- 30 vacation days per year.
These are just a handful of our terms of employment. Find more information on our website.
