You will serve as a Maintenance Worker for Pecos National Historical Park. Salary Range Information: First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level. WG-07: $26.34 (Step 1) to $30.71 (Step 5) per hour - Albuquerque-Santa Fe-Los Alamos, New Mexico (AQ) Wage Area
Major Duties
Performs a variety of duties within the full spectrum of maintenance activities, including carpentry, painting, cement finishing, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, electrical, masonry, janitorial, groundskeeping, roads, trails, and fence repair. Diagnoses and repairs deficiencies on buildings, structures, equipment, and utilities. Uses common tools to perform a variety of basic repairs and maintenance, plus operates small gas and electric power tools such as sanders, saws, riding and push-type mowers, and snowblowers. Maintains and operates well water distribution systems and septic systems. Operates light trucks and miscellaneous equipment such as tractors and skid steers. Area Information: Pecos National Historical Park is 2 miles south of Pecos, New Mexico on State Highway 63, and 4 miles north of I-25. It's 25 miles east of Santa Fe and 44 miles west of Las Vegas, NM. The park sits at 6900-7400 feet in a pinon/juniper woodland. Annual precipitation is 7-10 inches, with 12-16 inches of winter snowfall. Temperatures average 40°F in winter and 80°F in summer.
