Summary
This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. The primary purpose of this position is to perform work of limited scope or difficulty involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related utilities, and to assist journeyman or other higher graded maintenance workers in performing more difficult assignments associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, roofing, and other related trades
Major Duties
Performs rough to semi-finish carpentry tasks to repairs to quarters, maintenance buildings, comfort stations and other structures such as picnic tables, lifeguard stands, fireplaces, etc. Makes minor repairs to windows and doors. Prepares surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping and wire brushing. Thins, stirs and mixes and applies various coating materials. Performs masonry/cement work such as builds wooden forms, mixes and pours concrete for such items as sidewalks, floors, pads, and retaining walls. Operates vehicles up to 10,000 GVW. Makes minor repairs to windows and doors.
