The Sr. Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist serves as the site SME for environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company standards. This role drives continuous improvement through risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, training, and corrective action implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action initiatives to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.
Manage day-to-day EHS operations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and the Watlow Safety Management System.
Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments, leveraging data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Develop and deliver EHS training, coaching, and guidance to leaders and team members to strengthen safety awareness and compliance.
Partner with site leadership and cross-functional teams to align EHS initiatives with business objectives, operational priorities, and regulatory requirements.
Lead and support EHS projects, including defining scope, managing budgets and timelines, and ensuring successful implementation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant EHS experience.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and EHS compliance requirements.
Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
Experience performing safety audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance assessments in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
