Duties & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Solar Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This role combines technical engineering expertise with consultative sales, working directly with agricultural clients to design and deliver solar PV and energy storage solutions that improve productivity and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the agricultural sector.
Build long-term relationships with farmers, agribusinesses, irrigation specialists, and agricultural consultants.
Conduct client site assessments and evaluate energy requirements.
Design and recommend solar PV, battery storage, and backup power solutions.
Prepare technical proposals, quotations, ROI analyses, and project presentations.
Present energy-saving and financial benefits to customers.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Manage the sales pipeline through to project handover.
Represent the company at agricultural exhibitions, trade shows, and industry events.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging renewable energy technologies.

Minimum Requirements

BEng, BTech or National Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Electro-Mechanical, Renewable Energy or related Engineering discipline.
3+ years' experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or business development.
Experience in solar PV systems, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, or agricultural equipment sales.
Strong understanding of commercial and industrial solar solutions.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.
Able to speak Afrikaans
