Role
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior
Environmental Design Engineer to provide technical expertise in environmental
assessment, regulatory compliance, sustainability, waste and water management,
and environmental permitting. The successful candidate will support a range of
engineering and infrastructure projects while ensuring environmental best
practices and compliance requirements are met.
What
You’ll Do
Wastewater System Design
Lead the design and specification of
commercial wastewater treatment systems, including SBR, MBBR, DAF, and tertiary
treatment technologies.
Process Optimisation
Improve system performance, efficiency, and
reliability through data driven analysis and continuous improvement.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all systems meet EPA, Irish Water,
and local authority requirements, including discharge licensing and monitoring
obligations.
Project Management
Oversee end to end project delivery from
concept design to commissioning, coordinating with engineering, construction,
and client teams
Technical Reporting
Prepare design documentation, risk assessments,
compliance reports, and operational guidance.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Provide technical support to commercial
clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
Site Assessments
Conduct site inspections, sampling, and
performance evaluations of existing treatment systems.
Environmental Risk Management
Identify environmental risks and develop
mitigation strategies for commercial operations
Requirements
Degree in Environmental Engineering or related
discipline.
Minimum 7+ years’ demonstrable experience in D&B of commercial or industrial wastewater treatment systems.
Strong knowledge of Irish EPA regulations,discharge licensing,effluent standards,and EU water directives.
Proven experience with biological treatment
processes,nutrient removal,sludge management,and effluent quality control.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering
projects.
Proficiency with modelling and design tools.
Excellent communication.
