The Sustainability Manager will support the Northern Perak Water Supply Scheme (NPWSS) project, leading the development, implementation and oversight of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies. This role ensures that the project aligns with national sustainability standards, water supply project requirements, and all applicable local regulatory obligations. The candidate must have a good understanding of the construction or engineering project life cycle (may include planning, design development, procurement, construction).

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement initiatives to reduce the organization's environmental footprint, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and greenhouse gas emissions reduction programs.

- ESG Strategy & Implementation
- Develop and implement project-specific ESG and sustainability strategies aligned with corporate and regulatory frameworks.
- Integrate sustainability considerations into project planning, design, procurement and construction activities.
- Social & Stakeholder Management
- Support stakeholder engagement initiatives, including local communities, NGOs and regulatory bodies.
- Governance, Compliance & Reporting
- Support internal governance processes, including audits, reporting and documentation
- Liaise with regulators and relevant authorities on sustainability-related matters
- Track, analyse, and report ESG performance metrics across the project lifecycle
- Support the preparation of sustainability reports and disclosures in line with applicable frameworks and standards
- Maintain accurate, consistent, and auditable ESG records and documentation
- Collaboration
- Support project teams in embedding sustainability into construction and operational processes; promote sustainability awareness; and drive continuous improvement by recommending enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, or environmental management
