The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role plays a key part in promoting a proactive safety culture, minimizing risk, and ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain the site's environmental compliance programs in accordance with federal, state and local regulations (EPA, TCEQ, OSHA).
- Ensure compliance with all environmental permits, including air emissions, wastewater, stormwater and hazardous waste requirements.
- Manage hazardous waste accumulation, labeling, storage and disposal activities in accordance with RCRA regulations.
- Coordinate environmental inspections, audits and regulatory reporting.
- Monitor environmental performance metrics and prepare monthly compliance reports.
- Maintain environmental records, permits, manifests and required documentation.
- Conduct environmental risk assessments and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Support sustainability initiatives including waste reduction, recycling and resource conservation programs.
- Investigate environmental incidents, spills and non-compliance events, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver environmental awareness and EHS training programs.
- Participate in internal and external EHS audits.
- Support OSHA compliance programs including inspections, incident investigations and safety training.
- Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), PPE assessments and safety committee activities.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering and quality departments to improve environmental performance and workplace safety.
- Stay current on changing environmental regulations and communicate impacts to management.
- Perform other EHS-related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Environmental, Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of:
- EPA regulations
- OSHA standards
- TCEQ regulations
- RCRA Hazardous Waste requirements
- Experience managing environmental permits and regulatory reporting.
- Experience conducting EHS inspections and audits.
Preferred
- Experience in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food or chemical manufacturing industry.
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
- HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification.
- ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 experience.
- Professional certifications such as CHMM, ASP or CSP are a plus.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
