Summary
This is a Cartographic Technician with the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is November - April, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: November 2026 Open to the first 50 applicants or until 07/20/2026 whichever comes first. Major Duties
Cartographic Technician Major Duties: Uses Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and other tools and databases as necessary. Visits field sites to gather information, utilizing accepted field mapping techniques. Inputs both routine and complex spatial and non-spatial digital data. Informs staff of the types of information that can be derived from various remote sensor, GPS, GIS, and field mapping techniques. Creates database queries and maps products in different digital file formats.
