Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced General Manager / Deputy General Manager – Techno-Commercial to lead techno-commercial functions across renewable energy projects, including solar and wind.
The role requires a strong understanding of project execution, commercial evaluation, regulatory frameworks, bid management, contracts, and stakeholder coordination. The candidate will work closely with leadership on project development, financial viability, commercial negotiations, and strategic growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-growing organization managing multiple renewable energy projects and SPVs.
Key Responsibilities
Techno-Commercial Management

Lead techno-commercial evaluation of solar and wind power projects

Assess project feasibility, CAPEX/OPEX estimates, IRR, and financial viability
-
Coordinate with EPC vendors, consultants, DISCOMs, and regulatory authorities
-
Support project structuring for utility-scale and open-access projects
-
Review technical specifications, BOQs, tender documents, and commercial proposals
-
Monitor project costs, timelines, and contractual deliverables
Business Development & Commercial Strategy

Support bidding activities for government and private sector renewable energy projects
-
Evaluate PPAs, open access opportunities, group captive structures, and third-party sale models

Participate in commercial negotiations with clients, vendors, and partners
-
Develop pricing strategies and project commercial modelsIdentify new market opportunities and support expansion initiatives
Regulatory & Compliance
-
Coordinate regulatory approvals and documentation related to renewable energy projects
-
Handle compliance related to DISCOMs, SLDCs, CEIG, open access, and power evacuation
-
Stay updated on renewable energy policies, tariffs, and regulatory developments
-
Coordinate with legal and finance teams on contractual and compliance matters
Finance & Project Coordination

Work closely with finance teams on project budgeting, cash flow planning, and lender coordination

Support due diligence processes for investors and lenders
-
Monitor project financial performance and reporting requirements
-
Coordinate with project execution teams to ensure commercial alignment
Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Work closely with senior management on strategic and operational decisions
-
Coordinate across engineering, finance, legal, and execution teams
-
Guide junior team members and support process improvement initiatives
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and partners
Desired Candidate Profile

10+ years of experience in renewable energy, power, or infrastructure sector
-
Strong exposure to techno-commercial functions in solar and/or wind projects
-
Understanding of PPAs, open access, regulatory approvals, and power sector frameworks
-
Experience in bid management, project costing, and commercial negotiations
-
Strong analytical, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
-
Ability to work in a dynamic environment managing multiple projects simultaneously
