The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and directing safetyârelated activities at the Fernley manufacturing and poly operations sites. This role supports the implementation of safety programs, compliance initiatives, and employee engagement efforts to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. The EHS Coordinator works closely with the EHS Manager and site leadership to maintain regulatory compliance, promote safety awareness, and reinforce Trex’s commitment to safety as the company’s top priority.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a safe workplace by promoting safety awareness and reinforcing safety as Trex’s number one priority
- Partner with the EHS Manager to ensure site operations comply with all applicable safety standards and best practices
- Develop, implement, and promote safety programs through employee training, safety team activities, audits, and data management
- Investigate incidents, track corrective actions, and continuously improve site safety performance
- Maintain all required safety training documentation and ensure compliance with OSHA recordâkeeping requirements
- Support employee welfare initiatives and activities that promote positive morale and engagement
- Support achievement of annual manufacturing plan objectives related to environmental, health, and safety performance
- Provide EHS support for other site activities as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the EHS Manager
Experience, Education:
- A high school diploma or GED and 3+ years of safety experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Must have demonstrated leadership abilities in a self-directed team manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and recordâkeeping standards
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Experience supporting siteâlevel EHS programs (preferred).
- Experience conducting safety training or participating in safety committees (preferred).
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety audits and compliance programs (preferred).
