The Environmental Manager is responsible for overseeing and enforcing environmental compliance across facilities, ensuring that operations align with regulatory requirements and sustainability goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitoring environmental performance, recommending improvements, and maintaining management programs that safeguard air, water, and land resources
- Review applicable environmental regulations and ensures their proper application, while also evaluating stormwater management practices and maintaining air quality systems in compliance with permits. Key responsibilities include reporting environmental incidents, preparing for regulatory inspections, and leading or supporting the preparation and negotiation of environmental permits
- Work with regulatory agencies, prepares documentation, schedules required testing, and ensures timely submission of follow-up reports. Additional duties may include cost-effective environmental planning, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement of compliance programs
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Graduate of Environmental Engineering or related field
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in environmental management
- Strong knowledge of environmental permits, compliance, and regulations
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams
- Commitment to environmental compliance, workplace safety, and sustainability
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
