Job Purpose |
|
Assisting the company in implementing a good Environment Management System and maintaining high standards in the field of the Environment. By this MPC can be one of the best EHS performing Maaden affiliates and the company EHS performance will be comparable with any of the good EHS performing companies in the world.
Responsible for carrying out surveys, monitoring, testing, waste disposal, etc. Ensures that applicable EHS regulations (such as the Royal Commission’s Environmental regulation) and all relevant procedures and instructions are followed by all departments.
Reviews all Environment related, and illness Accident Reports, attends all Maaden Environment Committee Meetings. Provides technical evaluation Environment related matters and obtain required radiation operation permits. Report Environment performance to management. And furcating the required beget to execute the Environment programs and studies.

Key Accountabilities |
|
Obtain required radiation operation permits. Also, assisting in physical audits and reviews of Contractors EHS Programs. Coordinate with medical department to insure the enrolment of required employees in medical surveillance program. Report occupational health performance to management. And furcating the required beget to execute the EHS programs and studies. |

Support Environment Lead in ensuring that EHS management systems and operational control procedures that comply to MSHEM Standards, ISO 14001 & RC 14001 and other relevant standards requirements are developed, maintained & implemented throughout the company. |
|
Assist in monitoring Sustainability indices and develop procedures and programs for achieving the sustainability goals. |
|
Participate in the EHS Management System Procedure Review process to achieve the company’s EHS Objectives & Targets |
|
Generate the Environment reports for Royal Commission, Maaden and other outside agencies and ensure that these reports are meeting the requirements. |
|
Attend the project meetings and ensure that EHS requirements are incorporated in new projects |
|
Assist the departments in developing Environment Management System and maintaining records for ISO 14001 audits |
|
Participate in the development of Responsible Care Management System in MPC and its certification |
|
Coordinate with departments for monitoring the Green House Gas emissions and assist them in developing plans for reducing the Green House Gas emissions |
|
Assist Environment Lead in coordinating with the Operations departments and external agencies/Maaden for the annual environmental and Industrial Hygiene Monitoring |
|
Assist the departments in waste reduction, waste recycle and waste disposal |
|
Assist the departments in the conservation of energy, service water and other natural resources |
|
Participate in the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and RC 14001 internal audits |
|
Monitoring quarterly progress in company and department business objectives |
|
Carryout annual legal and other regulatory compliance audits on Environmental Management System |
|
Ensure that the environmental monitoring reports are meeting RC requirements and the reports are sent to Royal Commission and Maaden on time |
|
Carry out annual stack emission monitoring, annual fugitive emission monitoring, annual ground water monitoring as per RCER requirements and forward the reports to RC within 30 days of completion of the test |
|
Sending the monthly industrial self-monitoring report, monthly CO CEMS report, Semi-annual waste generators report and the annual Hazardous Inventory report as per RCER requirements and as per the MSHEM Standard |
|
Sending the quarterly and annual reports to Maaden on time |
|
Monitor the validity of Environmental Operating Permits; notify the departments at least one year before for the preparation of the Consolidated Permit Application Package (PAP) and submission of the PAP at least six months before the expiry of the EOP |
|
Coordinate with RC and departments for the monthly waste water sampling, witnessing of the emission monitoring testing and the annual waste management audit. |
|
Carry out regular audits to ensure that the activities of MPC follow MPC EHS Management System procedures and the impact on environment is less |
|
Coordinate with the trainer for carrying out regular environmental awareness programs |
|
Preparation of the monthly activity report for the environment section |
|
Custodian of the Environmental web, MSDS and the waste management software |
|
Ensure that all the wastes generated in MPC are disposed within 180 days of its generation |
|
Coordinate with Operations departments and Waste disposal facility for getting WPS numbers, making Purchase Order, waste movement, clearing of invoices etc. connected with the waste Management |

Ensure that the latest MSDS are uploaded in the web and the MSDS of all the chemicals are available |
|
Participate in the plant turn around to ensure that the maintenance activities are carried out in full compliance with RCER and MPC EHS Management System procedures. |
|
Participate in Environmental activities related to the management of environmental aspects of the Company operation activities and services, including but not limited, various air emissions, solid waste, waste water and ground water contamination. These include liaising with Royal Commission on waste movement, ensuring a sound waste inventory system exists, reviewing waste water sample test results, carrying out air emission surveys and monitoring sea water |

Attend and support EHS meeting inside and outside the company to increase Environment awareness and ensure compliance to requirements.

Represent the company as active member of national/international environmental organization.

Conduct presentation for national/international events.

Provide Environment professional advice in executing various jobs.

Provides “On Call” coverage for the EHS Section office on a rotational basis to ensure continuing service to the plant 24 hours operation.

Develop and train the other staff within the EHS section

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies |
|
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or Environmental Science
NEBOSH International General Certificate in Safety.
|
|
Minimum Experience:
Minimum 2 years in the Petrochemical industry in the field of Safety, Health and Environment.
