Daikin Comfort Technologies Distribution, Inc. is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Sustainability and Field Enablement Specialist position working remotely. The Sustainability and Field Enablement Specialist is responsible for advancing Daikin’s leadership in refrigerant lifecycle management by integrating technical training, regulatory compliance, and profitability-driven reclaim strategies across Owned Distribution.
This role serves as the field-facing subject matter expert and capability builder, enabling contractors, branch teams, and sales organizations to improve refrigerant recovery practices, increase reclaim participation, and optimize refrigerant-related cost and margin performance.
The role bridges strategy and execution, translating environmental and regulatory priorities into practical, scalable field programs that enhance contractor productivity, ensure compliance, and unlock economic value through improved refrigerant management.

Position Responsibilities Includes the following:
• Develop and deliver technical training programs for contractors and branch teams focused on refrigerant recovery, handling, storage, and reclaim best practices
• Serve as a subject matter expert on EPA regulations (e.g., Section 608), A2L refrigerant transition (R32, R454B), and compliance requirements
• Translate refrigerant recovery and reclaim strategies into field-level execution playbooks that drive adoption and consistency
• Partner with Sales and Operations to position refrigerant recovery and reclaim as a contractor profitability lever, including cost avoidance and efficiency gains
• Support development and rollout of reclaim programs, including contractor engagement, incentive structures, and vendor coordination
• Analyze refrigerant usage, recovery rates, and reclaim participation to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities
• Provide field feedback to influence pricing strategies, product positioning, and refrigerant portfolio decisions
• Support branch and contractor readiness for regulatory changes and compliance audits, ensuring alignment with company policies
• Collaborate with internal teams (EPO, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain) to drive process improvements that simplify recovery and increase participation rates
• Assist in the creation of training materials, SOPs, digital tools, and field communications to scale best practices
• Participate in pilot programs and innovation initiatives to enhance refrigerant lifecycle management and circular economy efforts
• Perform other tasks as assigned

Knowledge & Skills:
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigerant applications (residential and commercial)
• Deep understanding of refrigerant regulations, recovery processes, and A2L transition requirements
• Ability to translate technical and regulatory concepts into practical, field-ready training and tools
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect refrigerant management to margin, cost, and profitability
• Effective communicator across all levels, from technicians to senior leadership
• Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze performance metrics and drive action
• High level of ownership, initiative, and ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Strong collaboration skills across Sales, Operations, and Environmental teams
Experience:
• 8–12+ years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or related field
• Experience in technical training, field support, or contractor engagement preferred
• Exposure to refrigerant recovery, reclaim programs, or environmental compliance strongly preferred
• Experience working across distribution and/or OEM environments
Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s Degree minimum in business, engineering or other technical science. Master’s Degree preferred.
