Summary
This is a Career-Seasonal position which is subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. You will be placed in a pay status and can expect to work a minimum of 13 pay periods not to exceed a maximum of 25 pay periods, and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year.
Major Duties
Historic Masonry Preservation: Restore, repair, reconstruct, and preserve historic masonry features, including brick, stone, stucco, mortar, and other traditional materials. Match historic materials, finishes, and construction techniques to maintain the integrity and character of historic structures. Historic Roofing Preservation: Inspect, repair, and restore historic roofing systems; locate and correct leaks; and install historically appropriate roofing materials, flashing, gutters, and related components while maintaining historic integrity. Historic Painting Preservation: Preserve historic paint finishes and colors by removing deteriorated coatings using appropriate methods, preparing surfaces, matching historic colors, and applying specialized finishes in accordance with preservation standards. Woodworking and Carpentry: Fabricate, restore, repair, and preserve historic wood features and architectural elements, including doors, windows, trim, moldings, cabinetry, stairways, framing, and decorative woodwork. Utilize traditional woodworking techniques and materials to ensure historic accuracy and structural integrity. Project and Program Management: Lead and support historic preservation projects from planning through completion; develop and manage preservation budgets; oversee project compliance and documentation; establish and monitor vendor and contractor relationships; maintain project records in automated systems; and procure tools, equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to support preservation and maintenance activities.
