Summary
This is a permanent Automotive Worker position at Gateway National Recreation Area. The primary purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul work on automobiles, trucks, tractors, and other vehicles with similar characteristics including gasoline and diesel engines and other mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, computer-assisted, and electronically controlled systems.
Major Duties
Replaces solenoids, relays, control modules, water pumps, fuel injectors, spark plugs, brake pads/shoes, wheel bearings/hubs, ball joints, control arms, steering linkages, exhaust components, cooling system components, engine components, belts, hoses, tires, and complete assemblies. Services and checks air conditioning systems, including purging and recharging systems, flushing radiators and replacing anti-freeze solutions, and aligning cars and trucks by adjusting caster, camber and toe. May assist with, or prepare monthly reports, requisitions for supplies and parts, job reports and vehicle labor and parts forms.
