POSITION: HR Records Assistant
LOCATION: On site at the Bronx Zoo and hybrid
POSITION TYPE: Seasonal (June-August 2026)
COMPENSATION: $20 per hour
SCHEDULE: Flexible days; 10-20 hours per week; in person and remote
JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our Human Resources team temporarily as a Records Assistant. This role focuses primarily on organizing files, managing forms, and providing general, light administrative support. This is an entry-level position perfect for someone who loves organization and structure.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:- Filing & Organization: Review, sort, label, and file paper and digital files, purge outdated documents, and prepare inactive files for archiving based on company retention policies.
- Digital Archiving: Review online documents and move them into our various secured file folders, ensuring documents are accurately categorized and securely stored.
- Data Entry: Enter basic information into spreadsheets and validate information via Excel spreadsheets and HRIS.
Internal Qualification RequirementsOrganization: Strong ability to keep items neat and categorized.
Attention to Detail: High accuracy in labeling, filing, and data entry to prevent lost documents.
Basic Tech Skills: Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/MS Outlook)
Confidentiality: Strict adherence to data privacy protocols.
Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for periods while filing.
Reliability: Consistent attendance and a strong work ethic.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalency.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$20 per hour
